Barbera is an ancient variety with its historical roots in Italy. The wine has a deep and full bodied character. It has a ripe aroma of red fruit, currants or blackberries, which is enhanced due to barrel aging. Our Barbera is aged for 12 month in traditional oak barrels.

This year's offering includes fruit from 4 different vineyards, and was barrel-aged for 12 months in one-third new oak, split evenly between American and French oak. The moderate heat of the 2006 vintage yielded a more elegant and fruit forward syrah, while still retaining some smoky depth. Typical of Washington Syrahs, the wine evinces a very mature tannin profile, with dramatic structure and full-bodied mouth-feel, and would accompany well very rich, hearty foods.

Aromatically you will sense the warm, calming spices of winter foods: cinnamon, vanilla, and roasted fruit. On the palate, the texture is dreamy and cloudlike with super ripe, soft plum, beautifully integrated tannin, leathery notes, black currand and lots of spice. Delicious!

Deep ruby/purple in color, Tsillan's Merlot is an excellent example of balance in wine. Fruit and wood tannins give way to black cherry, toffee and smoke on the mid-palate, and a very long finish of bitter chocolate and coffee. Aged for 18 months in 70% French and 30% American Oak, this wine will mature beautifully and will come into its prime in the next 2-6 years.

78% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc.

Our most sophisticated red yet! Black licorice on the nose enhances the sweet red pepper and sandalwood flavors with hints of rich tabacco on the palate. Strong tannin structure makes for this one of our most cellarable reds. Our Sangiovese is quickly becoming our signature red wine. Profound notes of ripe blackberries, cherries, and raspberries mingle beautifully with cedar, earth and vanilla flavors and aromas. The structure tends towards a medium-plus to full bodied wine. The tannins are firm and fine grained providing a little extra cellar potential. Match this fine red wine with grilled red meats as well as poultry where spicy-tomato based sauces are used to baste the bird. You may cellar this wine six to ten years and be rewarded with a truly fine experience for doing so!

Loony Red is velvet on your tongue, silky and smooth yet spicy. It is a rich blend of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, barrel aged for more than 18 months. Its ruby red color intensifies the flavors of chocolate and coffee and finishes with a hint of ripe blackberries and plum. Loony Red (2005) was recently awarded a bronze medal in an international wine competition and is worthy of saving for that very special occasion.

A beautiful ruby red color is present.  Fragrant black cherry, red raspberries, cedar, old fashion damask rose petals and sweet leaf tobacco notes are found on the nose and palate of this medium-bodied wine.  This wine's presentation is quite complex, smooth and civil.  It makes for a great match when paired with beef, BBQ and lamb.  A solid four to six years of cellar potential.
